Decoding regenerative transformation

Most transformation efforts fail. Fewer than 30% succeed.
But they don’t have to.

This Substack is about decoding regenerative transformation — reimagining our outdated systems in ways that allow people, organizations, and the planet to thrive. It’s a space for changemakers like you and me to sharpen our craft, share what works, and increase the odds of success.

This Substack is for you if you:

  • Feel responsible for problems you didn’t cause but can’t ignore.

  • See possibilities others miss and feel compelled to act on them.

  • Want transformation that works, not just inspiration.

  • Are committed to perfecting your craft as a changemaker.

Why this work matters to me

I was 13, pausing — laden with groceries and whatever else I was expected to carry home that day — at a derelict intersection of the imploding Soviet Union, when I first committed to figuring out how we do change better.

That moment has driven me for over 20 years across global practice, advocacy, and now my PhD research (RMIT). My goal is to generate the “periodic table” of changemaking: a comprehensive framework where every element of transformation is identified and arranged, revealing its properties, relationships, and applications.

Wherever I fall short of that ambition, my hope is that assembling the edges of the puzzle invites and informs others to demystify the rest of its complexity.

Why upgrade to “paid”?

I know even a few dollars can be a barrier for readers across the 30+ countries where the Changemakers’ Handbook is read. I want to keep as many posts as possible free and accessible to all. So, if you’re able, please consider upgrading to paid to support my work — helping sustain this project without locking anyone out of its benefits.

💡 From time to time, I also publish paid-only posts—deeper, more personal reflections that I feel comfortable sharing only with those actively committed to supporting this work and community.
